“Sin Separates”

2 Kings 24-25; 2 Chronicles 36:1-21; Jeremiah 52

Highlighted Verse:

“Because of the Lord’s anger, it came to the point in Jerusalem and Judah that he finally banished them from his presence…” 2 Kings 24:20a

The exile of God’s people highlights the consequences of our sins.  The greatest consequence is unavoidable, separation from God.  Today’s reading reveals that our sin separates us from our perfectly holy Lord (2 Kings 24:20).  Yet the Lord continually draws us back to Him with compassion and grace.

Are you choosing to do what is evil in the Lord’s sight like Jehoiakim and Zedekiah?

Take some time to seek the Lord in prayer.  Praise Him for His compassion and grace.  Confess any sin in your heart today.
