“Listening And Obeying God’s Word”

Jeremiah 41-44

Highlighted Verse:

“So Johanan son of Kareah, all the commanders of the armies, and all the people failed to obey the Lord’s command to stay in the land of Judah.” Jeremiah 43:4

Johanan, some commanders of the army, and others he rescued planned to flee to Egypt.  Before going to Egypt they asked Jeremiah to pray to the Lord to give them direction on what to do and where to go.  They said they would obey the Lord, but they already had their minds made up.  So, they chose to disobey God when He told them not to go to Egypt but, instead, to stay and trust Him.

What about you?  How deep is your commitment to the Word of God?  Will you choose to obey the Word of the Lord or do you already have your mind made up?
